Muslim Project Filing Instructions

Place your edited .MOV, .DOC and .JPG files in the Drop Box folder of our class file server:

afp://gcj.ou.edu/JMC3003_Vieth

(That's the icon that should show up on your desktop when you log in from the classroom.)

Here are the steps to getting videos in the right file format for ROUTES:


•    First, edit the video in FCP It doesn't really matter what dimensions the video is (at least that I have seen. We've had 16x9 HD video and 4x3 SD video on the site.)

•    When you are done, you'll go to FILE, SEND TO, and choose COMPRESSOR.

•    In Compressor, you'll open the APPLE folder (in the window in the lower left-hand corner).

•    Then, open OTHER WORKFLOWS.

•    Then, open WEB.

•    Then, open STREAMING.

•    Then, open QUICKTIME 7 COMPATIBLE.

•    Then, choose H.264 300Kbps Streaming. DRAG THIS TO YOUR PROJECT. (There will be a little FCP move logo in the top left window that represents the edited video. You'll just click and hold the command and drag it to that logo, much like dragging a file to the trashcan.)

•    Click “Submit.”

•    We're trying to get all the videos to have similar fonts, so have your students use Helvetica Bold on names and Helvetica regular on peoples' titles.
